Winter Coat Drive

Tri-Star Gymnastics is so happy to partner with the "Closet" for emergency clothing for those adults with unexpected hardships. The "Closet" is located at Calvary Memorial Church, 931 Lake Street in Park Park and works in partnership with area social service agencies. Last year they met the needs of over 1,000 adults assisting them with warm winter clothing.

The closet services clients mid-October through May every Saturday from 9:30 - 11:30am. It is focused on providing winter apparel (especially coats and footwear) to those in need in our community servicing a 28 zip code area and is part of the Oak Park and River Forest Walk-In Ministry.

Please join with us by donating any of the items listed below. We will be collecting your donations during the week of October 25th just before Halloween (when you shop for your kids costumes, think about what you might be able to pick up for someone in need). Of course we are happy to receive gently used items.

Calvary Memorial Church offers receipts for tax purposes which will be available here at Tri-Star during the week of the 25th.

The "closet" accepts:
- Warm boots
- Gloves and mittens
- Hats and scarves
- Jeans
- Sweatshirts and sweaters
- Belts and back-packs
- Gently used or new warm coats and jackets (particularly needed are extra-large sizes).
- New packaged socks, underwear and winter long-johns.

Adult clothing only; unfortunately we are not able to donate children's clothing at this time. We are certain that Goodwill (just south on Harlem Avenue) and the Salvation Army (just east on Roosevelt Road) both located very near here, would truly appreciate your donation of children's items.
